Endeavour Last Mission
(Media / Endeavour Last Mission)
Challenger Endeavor Last Mission - Mission 26 Very special thanks to the City of Inglewood, Chief of Police Mark Fronterotta, Lieutenant James Madia, Sergeant Dirk Dewachter, and to the Men and Women of the Inglewood Police Department. None of this would have been possible without them. For more than two decades, officials at the California Science Center dreamed of showcasing a space shuttle at the Exposition Park museum. It took a nationwide competition, a three-day cross-country flight and a harrowing 12-mile trek through the streets of Inglewood, California and Los Angeles, but that dream came true. This project was only made possible by the help of a truly amazing and talented time-lapse team which included; Joe Capra, Chris Pritchard, Brian Hawkins, Andrew Walker, Ryan Killackey and me. This truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity that we are so happy and honored to have been be a part of. The endeavor started on Thursday night and went on until Sunday night, with very little sleep to no sleep. The only thing that kept us going was pure love of the art and adrenaline. One thing that stood out the most for me, while I was shooting, was the people of Los Angeles. It was so powerful to see the excitement on people’s faces and the pride of their home town. No matter how many times I would see the Shuttle it would never get old. This has been an amazing experience that I will never forget. My hope is that this film will show you the amount of dedicated people and teamwork that it took to get the Endeavour to its new home. El Tonto
(Media / El Tonto)
El Tonto - A socially challenged vacationer in Mexico City strikes up an unlikely friendship with one of the country's best-known luchadores. Why it was chosen: "This story had a graphic quality that drew me in. The lack of dialogue gave it the feeling of a silent film driven more by cinematic ideas than narrative exposition. It was also on the shorter side, which was a nice attribute, allowing the story to be more visually told." -- Roman Coppola Winning Screenwriter: Ben Sayeg - Ben Sayeg is a Brooklyn-based freelance filmmaker. Having studied film at University of Westminster in London, he has been involved with Upright Citizens Brigade Theater's web comedies and is documenting Knitta, the group of artists who began the "knit graffiti" movement, where public architecture is wrapped with knitted or crocheted material as an art form. Director: Lake Bell - Actress, writer, and director Lake Bell is currently writing, producing, directing and starring in In A World..., a comedy about a vocal coach pitted against her father, the patriarch of the voice over industry. Her short film Worst Enemy premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, and Bell was seen in Black Rock, which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Past film credits include No Strings Attached, It's Complicated, and What Happens in Vegas. Bell recently wrapped production, acting and directing the fourth season of Adult Swim series Children's Hospital and starred in season 2 of HBO's How to Make It in America. Featuring: Kyle Mooney - As a member of the comedy troupe Good Neighbor, Kyle Mooney has appeared in sidesplitting YouTube videos that have garnered over 30 million views. It was his halting, unnerved interview style and rapid-fire wit caught the attention of director Lake Bell. Mooney and his comedy troupe are currently developing a pilot with Gary Sanchez Productions for Comedy Central. Featuring: El Solar - El Solar is one of Mexico's most beloved luchadores. The masked wrester is a living legend of the ring and has performed for over 30 years in Mexico and abroad. About Four Stories - Intel and W Hotels created Four Stories to identify and support rising visionaries in filmmaking, and provide them with a platform to share their talent with audiences around the world. Four winning scripts, inspired by iconic W Hotels destinations and the mobility of the Intel-inspired Ultrabook™, were chosen from nearly 1000 submissions from aspiring filmmakers worldwide. They were selected by a panel of entertainment industry insiders and filmmakers, and developed into short films. Roman Coppola and his production company, The Directors Bureau, matched the four scripts with some of today's most talented young directors and actors to bring each winner's vision to life. The resulting four films, plus an original short by Coppola himself, were shot at some of W Hotels' most exotic and cutting-edge locations — from the Maldives and Hollywood to Doha, Washington D.C. and Mexico City — and feature the Ultrabook as a central character. Four Stories is part of The Ultrabook Experience: a series of collaborations between Intel and innovative companies worldwide, enabled by the Ultrabook — a new category of computing devices powered by Intel.
